When we returned from our trip, we not only had memories of all the wonderful moments, but also this one thought that stayed with us. We had experienced something that many parents are familiar with: being on the road, full of adventure – and at the same time constantly wondering where our little Lars could sleep safely. This uncertainty became a strong motivation for us.
In the evenings, when Lars had finally fallen asleep, Fabian, Jana and I would often sit together at the kitchen table. Amidst pens, crumpled pieces of paper and lukewarm tea, the first sketches took shape. We thought about what a suitcase would need to look like that could not only transport clothes but also provide a safe place to sleep. We imagined how relieved parents would be if they simply had a bed with them – not as a bulky extra, but cleverly integrated.
Of course, there were doubts. Is this even feasible? Which materials are stable, lightweight and comfortable at the same time? Would such a product really make everyday life easier for families? But the longer we talked about CaseNapzZz, the clearer it became to us: we had to give it a try. The idea of relieving other parents of a worry that we knew so well ourselves stayed with us.
The first prototypes were still a long way from what CaseNapzZz is today. Sometimes the case was too heavy, sometimes not stable enough, sometimes too awkward to assemble. But every failure brought us closer to the solution. We learned what worked – and what we absolutely had to do better.
Today, when we look back, we are proud of this journey. Because it has shown us how much heart, soul, patience and passion goes into CaseNapzZz. For us, it is not just a product, but part of our own history – and hopefully soon a part of your travels too.
